Tengah Camp stories
Voices of refugees
At the entrance of the camp
The long wooden jetty leading to the center of the island named Pulau Babi Tengah, more commonly referred to as simply "Pulau Tengah".
On the left is the big Committee office where refugee interviews took place.
Beyond the jetty are 3 big camps where each family had their own spaces. Some of them were stranded on the island for 2 years.
Up on the hill to the left is the Malaysian Police house where the guards/soldiers slept.
On the right is the well which supplied the camp's water. Next to it is a row of 10 small shower stalls, without running water. Bathers brought water in buckets.
